Ronald Dale LeBlanc, Sr.
March 11, 1936 ~ March 12, 2024 (age 88) 88 Years Old
On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, Ronald Dale LeBlanc, Sr. passed away peacefully at home at the age of 88. He was at peace with the Lord.
Ronnie was born on March 11, 1936 in Biloxi, Mississippi to loving parents Sidney and Eleanor LeBlanc and grew up in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He lived in Metairie, Louisiana for 27 years before moving to Greta, Louisiana in 2005.
He worked 13 1/2 years at Avondale Industries, in the Shipyard Division as a Configuration Co-ordination/Engineering Supervisor and more than 5 years at Ingalls Shipbuilding Corporation as Lead Engineer.
A devoted Christian, Ronnie spent time with the Lord reading his bible and praying every night. Having raised 5 children, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was kind and loving to all. Ronnie was known for his love of travel, being an avid collector of family photos, books, rare coins, and fine art.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney LeBlanc and Eleanor LeBlanc; his siblings, Jerry (Elaine) LeBlanc, Gary LeBlanc, and Perry LeBlanc; his son-in-law, E.J. Workman, his youngest son Robert LeBlanc, the mother of his children Glenda Roberts Collums and his wife Josephine Foto LeBlanc.
He is survived by his cherished companion of 21 years, Trudy Benoit, his sibling, Harold Fountain, his children, Dr. Ronald “Dale” LeBlanc, Jr. (Hal Williamson), Kelli LeBlanc Workman, Lisa (Ivan) Lomelli, Scott LeBlanc, Mary (David) Sherman; 7 grandchildren, Kathleen (Ray) Lockwood, Cassie (Bruce) Archebelle, Robert Lomelli, Lyndsey (Adam) Cupit, Shane Workman, Ariel Workman, Lucas (Courtney) Lomelli; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on March 18, 2024 at 2:45 pm, at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana, 70124. Visitation will begin at 11:30 am and will continue until service time, 1:45pm. Interment to follow at 2:45pm at the Greenwood Mausoleum. Condolences may be expressed at www.greenwoodfh.com.
